A People-First Agenda for NY-10

Real solutions for the issues that matter most to families across Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.

Working families too often carry the burden while billionaires exploit preferential tax treatment. We must close tax loopholes, raise the effective rate on extreme wealth, and use revenue to fund childcare, healthcare, housing, and transportation for working families.

Families in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan are being priced out of daily life. I'll fight corporate price gouging, protect public transit, expand affordable childcare, and lower the cost of living for workers.

Healthcare is a right. I support Medicare for All, full funding for mental health care, community clinics, reproductive care, and gender-affirming care so every person in NY-10 gets the care they need without debt.

Social Security is not a bonus — it's money people paid in over their entire working lives. I support eliminating federal taxes on Social Security benefits so seniors keep the income they rely on to live with dignity.

No one should be pushed out of their neighborhood. I support strong tenant protections, rent stabilization, and major investment in permanently affordable community-controlled housing so NY-10 residents can stay and thrive.

NY-10 runs on its workers. I'll fight for strong unions, fair wages, protections for gig and freelance workers, and fair taxes on corporations and the ultra-wealthy to support small businesses and cooperatives.

Climate change already impacts NY-10 through heat, flooding, and pollution. I support a Green New Deal that creates union jobs, invests in clean energy, upgrades public housing, and protects frontline communities.

Real public safety comes from stability and care. I support community-based violence prevention programs, mental health crisis response teams, and safer streets and subways without criminalizing poverty or mental illness.

Our immigration system is broken. People seeking asylum often wait months or even years to see an immigration judge, creating uncertainty for families while straining our courts. Nickie believes America needs an immigration system that is secure, fair, and efficient.

  • Properly screen asylum seekers while respecting due process
  • Reduce immigration court backlogs by hiring more judges and staff
  • Ensure timely decisions so families are not left waiting for years
  • Provide a fair, orderly process that protects both border security and human dignity

Nickie supports the Block the Bombs Act and a lasting two-state solution in which both Israelis and Palestinians have secure, recognized states. She believes a future Palestinian state must have its own defined borders, government, and laws. She opposes further U.S. offensive military aid to Israel and supports defensive assistance for systems such as Iron Dome, provided it is conditioned on preventing further military escalation and expansion of settlements in the West Bank.

  • Support the Block the Bombs Act
  • Support a viable two-state solution with a sovereign Palestinian state
  • End U.S. offensive military aid to Israel
  • Support defensive aid for Iron Dome, conditioned on de-escalation and halting West Bank settlement expansion
