NY District 10

Her Full Platform

A people-first agenda covering every issue that matters to families in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.

Tax The Billionaires

Too often, working families carry the burden while the ultra-wealthy find loopholes and pay far less than everyday people.

  • Close loopholes that let billionaires avoid paying taxes
  • Raise the effective tax rate on extreme wealth and capital gains
  • Use revenue to fund childcare, healthcare, housing, and transit
  • End inherited wealth advantages that entrench inequality across generations
Too often, working families carry the burden while the ultra-wealthy find loopholes and pay far less or even less proportionally than everyday people. Billionaires benefit from preferential tax treatment on capital gains and inherited wealth, while teachers, nurses, and service workers pay full income, payroll, and consumer taxes on every dollar they earn. This is backwards. If we want a pro-worker, people-first economy, we have to start by asking the wealthy to contribute their fair share. That means: Closing loopholes that let billionaires avoid taxes, Raising the effective tax rate on extreme wealth, Using revenue to fund childcare, healthcare, housing and transit for working families — not give more tax breaks to those who already have more than they need. Every dollar working people pay should go toward strengthening our communities, not subsidizing the wealth of the ultra-rich.

Make Life Affordable — From Rent to Groceries

Affordability is the central crisis facing our district. Families in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan are being priced out of daily life.

  • Fight corporate price-gouging on food and essential goods
  • Protect and expand public transit funding
  • Expand affordable childcare and early education
  • Lower prescription drug costs through negotiation and regulation
Families in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan are being priced out of daily life. I will fight price-gouging, protect public transit, expand affordable childcare, and lower the cost of living for working people.

Healthcare Is a Human Right

Healthcare should never depend on your job, income, or immigration status.

  • Medicare for All — universal, comprehensive coverage
  • Full funding for mental health care and community clinics
  • Reproductive healthcare access for everyone
  • Gender-affirming care without barriers or discrimination
Healthcare is a right. I support Medicare for All, full funding for mental health care, community clinics, reproductive healthcare, and gender-affirming care so everyone in NY-10 gets the care they need without debt.

No Tax On Social Security

Seniors paid into Social Security their whole lives and should not be taxed again on the benefits they earned.

  • End federal taxes on Social Security benefits entirely
  • Protect and expand benefits for retirees and disabled Americans
  • Fight any attempts to cut or privatize Social Security
  • Ensure seniors can afford housing, medicine, and basic necessities
Social Security is not a bonus for retirees. It is money people paid into their entire working lives. After decades of contributing through payroll taxes, seniors should not have to pay taxes again on the benefits they earned, especially while struggling with rising costs for housing, groceries, and healthcare. I support ending federal taxes on Social Security benefits so seniors can keep the income they depend on to live with dignity. Retirement should not mean worrying about whether you can afford medicine, rent, or basic necessities. People who spent their lives building this country deserve financial security, not another tax bill.

Housing Is a Human Right

No one should be pushed out of their neighborhood. I support strong tenant protections and rent stabilization.

  • Major investment in permanently affordable, community-controlled housing
  • Strong tenant protections and anti-eviction policies
  • Rent stabilization to keep NY-10 residents in their homes
  • End predatory landlord practices and corporate speculation
No one should be pushed out of their neighborhood. I support strong tenant protections, rent stabilization, and major investment in permanently affordable, community-controlled housing so NY-10 residents can stay and thrive.

A Pro-Worker Economy

The people who make this city run deserve power and security.

  • Strong support for unions and collective bargaining rights
  • Fair wages and overtime protections for gig and freelance workers
  • Fair taxes on corporations and the ultra-wealthy
  • Support for small businesses and worker-owned cooperatives
NY-10 runs on workers. I will fight for strong unions, fair wages, protections for gig and freelance workers, and fair taxes on corporations and the ultra-wealthy to support small businesses and cooperatives.

Climate Action That Protects Our Communities

NY-10 is already feeling the climate crisis — from flooding and heat waves to aging, unsafe infrastructure.

  • Green New Deal creating union jobs in clean energy
  • Upgrading public housing with sustainable infrastructure
  • Protecting frontline communities from pollution and extreme heat
  • Investment in resilient flood infrastructure for Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan
Climate change already impacts NY-10 through heat, flooding, and pollution. I support a Green New Deal that creates union jobs, invests in clean energy, upgrades public housing, and protects frontline communities.

Real Public Safety Comes From Care

Safety means housing, healthcare, and opportunity — not mass incarceration. Real public safety comes from stability and care.

  • Community-based violence prevention programs
  • Mental health crisis response teams instead of police-only responses
  • Safer streets and subways without criminalizing poverty or mental illness
  • Investment in root causes: housing, jobs, and youth programs
Real public safety comes from stability and care. I support community-based violence prevention, mental health crisis response, and safer streets and subways without criminalizing poverty or mental illness.
